The Society Hotel Portland is open for business and we are focused on the health and safety of our guests, staff and community.
Every day we are focused on adjusting, and perfecting, our daily operation to meet the every federal, state and local safety regulation, while finding ways to reduce the impact on the guest experience, and hopefully making these changes feel as seamless as possible. Below you will find some adjustments to our operations during your stay. We will continue to keep this page updated and communicate any additional changes to the guest experience prior to arrival.
We ask guests to please consider the risk of COVID-19 and associated government measures before booking. If your plans change, we require at least seven days notice to cancel or make any changes to a reservation without penalty.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS CHECK-IN LIKE?
We’ve developed a seamless, contact-limited check-in process. Our front desk features a plexiglass barrier, and we ensure key sanitation upon arrival. Transactions are carried out on a touchpad that is sanitized between each transaction, and guests are welcome to use a sanitized stylus for signature. Moisturizing hand sanitizer is available at check-in, at the cafe, and on each floor near the elevator.
In the coming weeks we will be implementing a contactless check-in option for guests to sign their registration card from their cell phone prior to arrival, and then upload a copy of their identification card and credit card on file to our secure property management system. Upon arrival, guests will have a key card waiting for them.
All of our employees wear masks on property, and our housekeeping staff have increased cleaning efforts in all common spaces.
Once you’re checked in, you will have full access to the open areas of the property. You’re welcome to use our rooftop areas for items purchased from the cafe, or enjoy them in your room.
WHAT IS THE VIBE LIKE ON PROPERTY?
Our secured building is your sanctuary during your stay in Portland. We are encouraging guests to order from our cafe and find a seat at any of our physically distanced seating areas in the lobby or rooftop. We anticipate busier weekends and quieter weekdays, and our staff will continually monitor occupancy to ensure there is enough space between guests to safely occupy any of our common areas. Just because we’re separated, doesn’t mean we’re alone! Many guests enjoy the fact that they can interact from a distance in our shared open spaces.
WHAT’S THE PLAN?
We are closely monitoring the situation with respect to COVID-19 and constantly evolving our practices on property to keep people safe. Because phases and regulations continue to change, and the State of Oregon guidelines slowly and safely reopen business, we have adjusted our cafe and bar to a limited food and beverage program that aims to offer the widest selection for our guests, while maintaining safe preparation and serving practices for our staff.
As a small, locally owned business, we are working diligently to adjust our business operation and facility to create a safe and comfortable environment for our guests. We truly appreciate the patience & support all of our guests have offered during this time.
We always welcome suggestions and feedback on our safety measures, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’ve got any questions or ideas!
